Krabi

Finalizando a odisséia tailandesa, chegou a hora de falar sobre Krabi, que fica no litoral sul da Tailândia, a apenas 1h de vôo de Bangcoc. Antes vista como destino somente de mochileiros, hoje apresenta boa infra-estrutura hoteleira e de restaurantes em quase toda a cidade. A prática de mergulho e snorkeling é o forte da cidade (são 32 pontos), para todos os níveis, nos mais de 160km de costa no mar de Andaman. Em algumas praias, é possível avistar tartarugas marinhas e golfinhos, embora a região seja famosa também pelos esportes de aventura, dada sua natureza montanhosa.
A “seafood street” é uma ruela só de restaurantes que vendem pratos à base de frutos do mar, localizados em geral em palafitas sobre o mar. Ao Nang é a praia mais famosa e concentra a maioria dos hotéis e restaurantes próximos da nova avenida litorânea (Beach Road). Antes mais deserta, parte da praia hoje é usada como “estacionamento” dos barcos de cauda longa (longtail boats), utilizados para os passeios às outras praias. Railay Bay só pode ser alcançada via escalada pelos rochedos ou via barco (o chamado táxi aquático). Ton Say Bay é hoje uma das praias mais procuradas pelos turistas que chegam à Krabi, com a maioria dos hotéis no começo da subida da colina sobre a praia.
Para compras, os mercados noturnos são os melhores endereços: um deles fica em frente ao Krabi Resort e o outro na Khongkha Road. Nos finais de semana, tente o colorido mercado local entre as ruas Phruksauthit e Maharaj.
